Mumbai's Green Gaon

P- South Ward - Goregaon :  East - Aarey colony ( eastern border )

                                                      West - Malad creek

                                                      North - Chincholi Level crossing

                                                      South -  Oshivara  Bridge , Bandrekar wadi

There are so many things We love about our Goregaon and still there are a few remaining which demand solutions / action

 Aarey colony : Aarey Milk colony ( Asia's biggest Milk scheme ) the Paradise  / the only green-belt of Goregaon , comprises Filmcity ( Whistling Woods ) , NewZealand Hostel , Picnic Point ,Observation Post ( Chhota Kashmir ) , Aarey boat-club , Aarey Bhaskar Uddyan  , Indira Gandhi Institute of  research &  development  . St. Pius College ( biggest diocesan seminary , which trains catholic priests ) and last but not the least the Aarey road ,            which starts from S. V. Road ( Goregaon West t) and reaches to Powai -IIT , is the most cool / wonderful / romantic road , which even Katreena Kaif could not resist for her 1st ever bike-ride.

Problems :1.  As this Aarey- road connects Goregaon to Andheri , Powai ( IIT / Hiranandani ) , Mulund etc , it's always traffic-jammed , resulting in worn-out / deteriorating / pot-holed condition. 

2. Early morning joggers / walkers  ( especially senior citizens / ladies ) face lots of pollution / vehicular traffic on this serene road as there are not any footpaths / joggers park .

3.  The greenery of Aarey - Goregaon is under severe threat by large-scale tree-cutting through redevelopment activities such as building of malls / residential towers / Coporate houses  etc. There's also a big problem of unauthorised slums , occupying the govt. land

              

General problems  : 1. Outside Goregaon railway station( East ) , the juice-vendors are a big menace . They crowd / dirty  / pollute the place with their illegal selling of unhygienic juices.

 2. The Umiyanagar road needs concreting as it has the tallest MHada building , Vakratunda Business Park , Eco-House as well as residential complexes

 3. Hawkers outside Goregaon (West ) railway station make it hard for the daily commuters to navigate through & from station

 4. Most of the residents in Goregaon ( East ) get 24-hours water supply but Some areas in  Goregaon (west ) face water shortage

 5. In the Downpouring rains , it's usual for Motilal Nagar ( goregaon - west ) to live in life-size Swimming pool.

6. The cattle-market near Goregaon railway station - east is shut-down , but we must have vegetable - market in that place

7. We have many cinema-theatres in the malls but We don't have a single Drama-theatre . We want it .

 8. Getting / Hiring Auto-rickshaw from Goregaon- station to our homes / offices is  horrible / rare

 9.. Government's control on school fees : Education is every child's human right. The school are not profit making pvt. ltd. companies. There should be a limit on the fees charged by certain elitist schools  ( VIBGYOR HIGH in goregaon-west ) 

 10 . In Goregaon West , we have Prabodhan - Kreedabhavan , Prabodhan Library , Prabodhan - Ozone Swimming Pool , Meenatai Thackeray blood bank.In Goregaon ( east )  too , we want such kind of facilities / amenities

We Goregaonkar are progressive / hardworking / fun-loving / co-operative citizens of Mumbai . We want development in the forms of Malls / BPOs

/ Corporate business parks . But not at the cost of our Ozone-layer . We don't want to sacrifice or Greenland ( Aarey colony )
